Probably the most famous garden in Tyler is the Tyler Rose Garden, the worlds largest municipal rose garden, but there are many private gardens in the Tyler area. Some of them are regular attractions during the annual “Azalea Trails Event.” If you come to Tyler Texas, you will automatically be struck by the natural beauty of East Texas with it’s tall pines, and deciduous forest full of native dogwoods. In such a place, filled with such natural beauty it takes quite a garden to be impressive, but many of our local gardeners manage to pull it off, offering us an incredible blizzard of springtime colors!

In Texas, when you think of gardens, you think of East Texas!

The entire area is like a garden compared to most of the rest of the state. Lush forests, lots of lakes and streams, rolling hills, pastoral settings, farms and ranch land, make the East Texas area an almost idyllic spot.

Now, how do you top something like that? Well, We have the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden, which is the largest municipal rose garden in the world! Not only that, but there is the annual Azalea Trails event, which draws thousands from across the country, who can walk or drive down miles of streets of azalea clad homes and gardens!

We have dozens of rose nurseries, and other nurseries with every type of plant imaginable, and a thriving Master Gardener program.
